24.06.2013

During June 20 – 23, 2013, Mamaia, Romania representatives of CALM Women Mayors Network participated at the first session of the League of Women Mayors of Communes of Romania established by ACoR. The event brought together over 50 participants from both Associations.

The delegation of CALM Women Mayors Network shared their experience with the colleagues from Romania with regards to the activity of the Network, achievements, best practices, etc. The experience of CALM Women Mayors Network is of great interest to the League of Women Mayors of Communes of Romania as they are at very beginning of their activity.

During the visit the delegation attended the signing of the Twinning Agreement between Cumpăna Town Hall, Constanta County, Romania - Mayor Mrs. Mariana Gaju, President of League of Women Mayors of Communes of Romania and Town Hall of Sarata Veche, Falesti district, Republic of Moldova, Mayor – Mrs. Maria Galit.

It should be noted that CALM and ACoR encourage such cooperation and twinning experiences because they proved in time to be the most lasting and beneficiary for both parties and they ought to be extended to other places from Romania and Moldova.
